SMI-LE, Mobile nursing service of Liège

The non-profit organisation SMI-LE (Service Mobile Infirmier Liégeois) has been active in Liège since 2021. With a dozen nurses, physiotherapists and psychologists, the team roams the streets of the city to help people in extreme poverty. The organisation aims to reduce morbidity and mortality rates on the streets by acting as a bridge between the streets and healthcare facilities.

The challenge

In 2023, SMI-LE was looking for a solution that would enable both the tracking of individual beneficiary files between different team members and the easy generation of reports for funding authorities. The solutions available on the market did not meet these expectations: they were too limited in their functionality, unsuitable for the non-profit organisation’s fieldwork, or too rigid and expensive in terms of licences, without sufficient scope for development.

Development of the tool

To design a truly tailored solution, we organised a series of specification workshops with the SMI-LE team. These collaborative sessions identified two priority needs:

  • Smooth, guided data entry: thanks to a series of screens in a logical sequence, only the necessary information is displayed at each stage, simplifying use and reducing errors. The encoded data is then immediately accessible to other professionals monitoring the beneficiary. A complete audit of actions (encoding, consultations, modifications) also guarantees the transparency of the process.
  • Automatic report generation: dedicated screens allow the reports required by the public authorities to be produced quickly, thus avoiding a heavy and repetitive administrative burden.

Throughout the project, Yelido designed and presented successive screen prototypes, allowing the team to visualise their future uses in concrete terms. Regular feedback enabled us to refine requirements, prioritise essential features and deliver an operational solution that is perfectly aligned with the reality on the ground.

The results

Today, the Noé application is used daily by the entire SMi-LE team. It is a key tool for:

  • Coordinating interventions: each member has real-time access to up-to-date information on beneficiary follow-up, which avoids duplication and improves continuity of care.
  • Reducing the administrative burden: automatic report generation allows more time to be spent in the field and on providing human support.
  • Enhancing transparency and trust: data auditing provides clear traceability of actions, demonstrating reliability to funding authorities.
  • Evolving with needs: the tool continues to adapt thanks to user feedback, ensuring its long-term relevance.

In practice, Noé has become a real ally in everyday life: it structures work, streamlines exchanges and frees up time for the team’s primary mission: providing care and support to the most vulnerable people.
